Week 9 Stash List: Handcuffs and Bench Bets That Could Win You December
Week 9 fantasy stash candidates: Seth McGowan, Emmett Johnson, Kaelon Black, Samaje Perine, Tyjae Spears and more.
The pitch: Your last bench spot shouldn't hold a guy you'll never start. Use it on someone who's one trade or injury away from a big role.
Rostered percentages are from RotoBaller's Week 9 stash list (RotoBaller).
Deadline bets
- Seth McGowan, RB, Colts (31%): Ian Rapoport reported Indianapolis is open to trading Jonathan Taylor (4for4). DJ Giddens muddies it, but McGowan is the best lottery ticket here.
- Tyjae Spears, RB, Titans (15%): Tony Pollard is a trade candidate. Spears has two outs: a trade or an injury.
Top handcuffs
- Emmett Johnson, RB, Chiefs (19%): 5-128-1 receiving last week, but only 12 of 68 snaps, per FantasyPros (FantasyPros). Stash him, but don't overbid.
- Kaelon Black, RB, 49ers (31%): Christian McCaffrey had a leg issue before the bye (PFN).
- Samaje Perine, RB, Bengals (22%): FantasyPros calls him one of the more essential handcuffs. He backs up Chase Brown in a high-powered offense.
- Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Jaguars (26%): Not a stash anymore. Tuten is questionable after missing every practice, and NBC Sports calls Rodriguez the likely starter and an add in all 10- and 12-team leagues (NBC Sports).
- Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Falcons (25%): He backs up Bijan Robinson, but get healthy first. He missed two games with a hamstring injury.
Deep leagues: Ray Davis (Bills), Elijah Mitchell (Eagles), Jaylen Wright (Dolphins).
