Week 9 Matchup Notes: Where the Easy Points Are (and Aren't)
Week 9 fantasy matchup notes: Broncos at Panthers, Cowboys at Colts, Browns at Saints, Cardinals at Seahawks, Jaguars at Ravens and more.
The pitch: A few defenses are handing out points this week, and a couple are taking them away. Here's the cheat sheet.
Jaguars at Ravens (Thursday). Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano starts for Baltimore, with Lamar and Huntley on IR. Brissett won't arrive until the weekend (NFL.com). Downgrade the Ravens' passing game. For Jacksonville, Tuten is questionable after missing every practice, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. is the likely starter if he sits (NBC Sports).
Broncos at Panthers. Sporting News calls Carolina's run defense "putrid" (Sporting News). Jonah Coleman and JK Dobbins are both in play, and Coleman is the one I want.
Cowboys at Colts. Sporting News calls Dallas' defense "so bad" that Keenan Allen can hit on modest volume. Every Colts skill player gets a bump.
Browns at Saints. With Shedeur Sanders likely starting (SI), Harold Fannin Jr. is the play. Sporting News also notes the Saints have had trouble covering tight ends.
Cardinals at Seahawks. The tough one. Yahoo says not to expect anything close to Allgeier's 191 scrimmage yards against Seattle's defense. Bench him if you can.
Raiders at 49ers. Mike Washington Jr. gets San Francisco in his first week as the lead back (RotoBaller). Volume, not matchup, is why he's startable.
Jets at Chiefs. Garrett Wilson is unlikely to play (DraftSharks). His 26.4% target share goes to Omar Cooper Jr., Adonai Mitchell and the backs, and Breece Hall is trending toward a return. Aaron Glenn says "both will play" with Braelon Allen (ESPN).
Bye: the Titans are off this week. That's why Carnell Tate is cheaper in trade talks.
Final calls are in the Week 9 start/sit.
