Raiders Backfield: Mike Washington Jr. Takes Over, but Don't Dump Jeanty

Mike Washington Jr. got 25 carries to Ashton Jeanty's two. What the Raiders backfield shift means in redraft and dynasty.

The pitch: The weirdest box score of Week 8 might be the start of a real change. Or it might not. Here's how to play both.

What happened. Washington got 25 carries for 83 yards against the Jets. Ashton Jeanty got two, and Klint Kubiak said the light workload was by design (RotoBaller).

Why. FantasyPros notes Jeanty's running has been wildly inefficient since a 102-yard Week 1, and his receiving role had been covering for it (FantasyPros). FantasyPros' trade column has him at 3.3 yards per carry and still says hold (FantasyPros).

Redraft:

  • Washington: add him for the volume, not the efficiency. He was rostered in just 27% of leagues per RotoBaller, and he's NFL.com's No. 2 waiver target (NFL.com).
  • Jeanty: hold. Don't sell a first-rounder for pennies after one game plan.

Dynasty: DynastyMath has Jeanty's market 76% below the experts (DynastyMath). That's the top buy-low on their board.
