Wednesday Night Update: Eagles Start Milton, Darnold Out, Tyson Back at Practice
Fresh Week 9 fantasy news: Joe Milton starts for Philly, Sam Darnold is out in Seattle, and Jordyn Tyson returns to Saints practice.
The pitch: Three Wednesday developments that weren't in our earlier Week 9 posts. Quick hits you can use before Sunday lock.
1. Eagles bench Tanner McKee; Joe Milton III starts vs. the Giants. Sirianni said McKee was the guy two days ago. Then Wednesday happened. Milton gets his first NFL start after McKee went 0-3 (NFL.com). He's a different look — strong arm, some legs — and SI notes the Giants have been soft against dual-threat QBs (SI). Fantasy: Milton is a superflex streamer, not a 1QB must-add. Saquon is still Saquon; treat the Eagles pass catchers as volatile until we see Milton's first full game plan.
2. Sam Darnold out Week 9; Drew Lock starts vs. Arizona. Mike Macdonald ruled Darnold out with a quad injury from Monday night (plus a cracked rib he played through). Week-to-week, not IR. Lock starts again, even while managing an elbow, with Jalen Milroe backing him up (NFL.com). Lock already torched the Cardinals in Week 2 (235 yards, three scores). Hold Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks pass catchers; Lock is a deeper-league QB stream, not a must-add in 10-team.
3. Jordyn Tyson designated to return from IR. The No. 8 overall pick practiced for the first time since his August hamstring, limited in Wednesday's session. Nick Underhill says a Week 9 debut is possible on a snap count, but NBC Sports says stash him everywhere and don't flex him yet (NBC Sports). Dynasty managers: this is the add. Redraft: grab him if you've got a free IR or deep bench and can wait a week.
