Ravens QB Fallout: What Lamar's Injury and the Brissett Trade Mean for Fantasy

Fantasy impact of Lamar Jackson's IR stint and the reported Jacoby Brissett trade on Zay Flowers, Derrick Henry and the Ravens offense.

The pitch: Baltimore went from MVP-level quarterback play to a depth chart that changes every day. Here's what fantasy managers should do.

What happened. Lamar Jackson has a broken thumb and is on IR, possibly for the rest of the season. Tyler Huntley is done for the year with a toe/foot injury (PFT). Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano starts Thursday against Jacksonville (Ravens.com).

The fix. Per Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, Baltimore is finalizing a trade for Jacoby Brissett. As of Wednesday night it isn't official, terms haven't been reported, and the deal is expected to finish over the weekend. He's expected to start Week 10 against the Chargers on Monday night (NFL.com). Brissett lost the Arizona job to Gardner Minshew and was demoted to No. 3. Ravens QB coach Israel Woolfolk coached him in Arizona and Cleveland.

Fantasy fallout:

  • This week (vs. Jacksonville, Thursday, with Fagnano): stay away from everyone except Derrick Henry, and Zay Flowers as a WR3/flex.
  • After the trade: a veteran who can run an offense beats a third-stringer. Flowers moves back toward WR2/flex, and Henry should see fewer stacked boxes.
  • Brissett himself: superflex streamer only.
  • Arizona: no change. Minshew already had the job.

Dynasty: Lamar's long-term value doesn't move. If a Flowers manager panicked, go ask.
